AboutThis community is dedicated to the "Sons of Gondor" characters in JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings (Aragorn, Boromir, Faramir, Denethor, Isildur, etc.) and the actors (Viggo Mortensen, Sean Bean, David Wenham, John Noble, Harry Sinclair, etc.) who play them in Peter Jackson's movie adaptations. While slash makes us squee most enthusiastically, we have no objections to posting het and gen fic/artwork.
The community is open to both Fictional People Fiction (FPF) and Real People Fiction (RPF). Flaming posts and/or comments about the evils of RPF/RPS are not welcome and will be deleted.

sons_of_gondor accepts LotR FPF and RPF slash/femslash, het and gen featuring Gondorian characters/actors, as well as FPF/RPF in other fandoms featuring the LotR Gondorian actors (i.e., Prophecy, Sharpe, The Price of Milk, etc.).
The community's sole requirement at this time is that all fic/art/misc. posts (be they slash, het or gen) include at least one son/daughter of Gondor, character or actor, as a focal point of the story/art/post.
(A "Son1 of Gondor" is defined as a character who is related to a Gondorian family, ruling, in exile, commoner or otherwise, either by blood or by marriage. In FPF, this refers to all Gondorian characters: book, film, appendices or related works. In RPF, this refers to the actors/actresses that played those same characters in Peter Jackson's LotR films.)
If you are not sure whether your fiction/art falls within the guidelines, please feel free to contact one of the moderators.

Posting Guidelines:
Place all fic, artwork, long discussion topics, extensive author's notes and title banners behind LJ cuts. Do not artificially inflate font sizes or force text styles/colours on your readers; please leave LJ's default size/style/colours in place, and then use bolding/italics/underlining as you see fit.
All fic/art should include a header containing the following information: Title, Author, Rating, Pairing/Characters, Summary and Disclaimer. (Feedback and Author's Notes/Comments fields are optional.) Fic/art that warrants it should have proper warnings (incest, BDSM, etc.). In the case of roman à clef writings, the headers must make it clear who the characters are standing in for.
Postings can consist of any of the following: fic, art, fic/art challenges, graphics/icons, actor/movie info, links to other people's fic/art, and links to websites or challenges that would be of interest to the community. We also welcome discussion of character and craft in writing/art and of fandom in general; however, keep in mind that this is a forum where we can discuss ideas. It is not a place to launch personal attacks stemming from differences in interpretation. All such posts will also be deleted.
All content in this journal should be considered copyrighted by the individual posters, and as such any/all unauthorized duplication or publication without their consent is illegal.
